Zinc oxide is considered to be non-irritating, non-allergenic, and non-comedogenic.
In skin protectant applications, like a diaper cream, zinc oxide forms a protective barrier on the skin to help treat and prevent various skin conditions including minor abrasions, burns, chafing, diaper rash, insect bites, and skin irritation.
